Overview
The Museum of Art and Culture, Lake Macquarie (MAC) is a unique arts and cultural destination situated in a magnificent lakeside location overlooking the Sculpture Park, Marmong Point Marina and extensive leafy grounds. As a long-established arts and cultural venue, MAC attracts and develops a high quality range of exhibitions and programs that are lively, engaging and inspiring.
The museum prides itself on hosting an exciting and changing program of nationally significant touring exhibitions as well as exhibitions featuring the work of the Hunter’s finest artists. Alongside MAC’s collection, are regularly changing exhibitions as well as a diverse visitor program including workshops, installations, performances, and other activities to engage audiences. MAC is home to a dedicated Aboriginal program, yapang (meaning journey or pathway in Awabakal) featuring contemporary Aboriginal art and related programming year-round.
Within MAC is Sculpture Café, which offers a delicious menu to enjoy you reflect on your art experience. Shop MAC is MAC’s retail shop, containing a range of artisan made, ethically sourced goods; many by local artists and makers.
Admission to MAC is free and guided tours are available on request for groups. There is ample parking for coaches and bike racks are also available on site. MAC is fully accessible and facilities cater for mobility impaired visitors.
MAC is available for private hire for your special function or event, including cocktail parties, meetings, dinners, ceremonies, small conferences, weddings, product launches or presentations.
