Girls Weekend

Morning: Beaches

Mornings in Lake Macquarie are best spent exploring the 30km of picturesque coastline. For swimming, visit one of the patrolled beaches. Catherine Hill Bay is arguably the most scenic with its rustic coal-loading jetty and rock platforms, but Caves Beach comes a close second with white sand and of course, its namesake Sea Caves at the southern end.

Lunch: Lunch out with the Ladies

There are a multitude of nice destinations for a lunch out with the girls in Lake Macquarie. Waterfront dining is a must-do when visiting the area, try Warners Bay and Toronto for a huge range of cafes, takeaways and restaurants with water views.

Afternoon: Serenity Lodge Day Spa or Charlestown Sqaure

- It just wouldn’t be a proper girl’s trip without some pampering involved. This afternoon, head south to Serenity Lodge Day Spa, across from the waterfront in the lakeside hamlet of Balcolyn. Indulge in a hot-stone massage, a luscious body-wrap treatment or a revitalising facial.

- Charlestown Square offers a different kind of relaxation; retail therapy. Browse in over 270 speciality shops and Myer. You may find the perfect outfit for the night ahead. Charlestown Square is also a great destination for an evening out. You will find several restaurants, Max Brenner chocolate café and a bowling bar in the outdoor courtyard section, and a luxurious new cinema complex located upstairs.

Evening: Girls Night In or Girls Night Out

The choice is yours tonight, head out or stay in.

Lake Macquarie offers a huge range of self-contained accommodation, many with ocean views or a waterfront location. Grab some delicious takeaway, a bottle of the finest Hunter wine and settle in for the night.

Alternatively, eat out again. A visit to one of the waterfront sailing clubs or the Caves Beach Hotel combines dining and entertainment. Grab a bite to eat, a few drinks and have a dance to the live music usually scheduled on the weekends.
