Come along for a blood pumping weekend at Fast and Loud Festival, a free family event hosted by Lake Macquarie City Council.

This annual event features races of the top-tier Offshore Superboats and Powerboats on both Saturday and Sunday, as well as a Matt Hall Racing display and meet and greet at Belmont on Saturday.

The Australian Powerboats will race each day, launching from the boat ramp at Rathmines Park.

The Superboats will also race each day and are visible all the way from Eleebana, through to Warners Bay and Speers Point, as well as the start/finish line at Marmong Point, where the pit area at Empire Marina is accessible to all.

The Superboats racing is conducted in two main categories that are put on the course at the different times to each other. The first is speed restricted, where the name of the game is to be as close to the maximum as possible, without going over. The second is unlimited, and these boats are immediately identifiable by having enclosed cockpits, much like a fighter jet does. It's intense, often very close, and certainly extremely fast.

There will be seven onshore locations with music, food, markets and kids entertainment across the weekend.
