Rainbow Family identity art workshops with Emma Florence May
Overview
Join artist, educator and MAC yapang Art Prize Finalist Emma Florence May for a creative workshop designed for LG.BTQIA+ individuals, Rainbow families, and allies.
Whether you're part of the queer community, a supportive friend, or a family member, this session offers a welcoming space to learn, create, and celebrate diversity through art.
They'll supply a treasure trove of materials—but the magic happens when you bring your own! Photos, images, objects you love, oddities, memories—anything goes. Let's cut, glue, layer, and build something beautiful together.
Who is this workshop for? LGBTQIA+ individuals looking to express identity through art, rainbow families and their children, allies who want to engage in inclusive creative practice and beginners and experienced artists alike. You don't need any prior art skills.
Learn practical art techniques in a supportive environment. Experiment with colour, texture, and symbolism to express personal and family identity. Use mixed media materials and techniques.
