ACT Instrumental Music Program Junior Concert Band
Overview
The ACT Instrumental Music Program Junior Concert Band and their conductors are excited to present an entertaining and engaging selection of old favourites and original works at Warners Bay Theatre. This hour-long performance will include music from a wide range of genres including pop, folk, music theatre, classic and band originals. The performance will be followed by a Q&A where the audience is welcome to ask questions about the instruments and the ensemble.
Students in this ensemble are selected by audition each year and represent the highest standard of musicianship in ACT public schools. Over 15 different public schools are represented, with students coming together to rehearse once per week.
The ACT Junior Concert Band is an auditioned ensemble of 77 dedicated and skilled woodwind, brass and percussion players attending Years 7 & 8 at Canberra public schools. They are conducted by expert music educators employed by the ACT Instrumental Music Program of the ACT Education Directorate.
