Lake Macquarie One Act Play Festival
Overview
After a successful debut in 2023, the One Act Play Festival is returning to Warners Bay Theatre.
The Lake Macquarie One Act Play Festival is a theatre competition showcasing short, sharp and original one-act plays. The festival aims to encourage and foster local and regional playwrights and performers while generating interest from state and national artists, bringing the best of established and amateur theatre to a Lake Macquarie stage. It is hoped that through the One Act Play Festival plays will explore our society through story and performance, develop the skills and expertise of playwrights (script writing) and performers (stagecraft), and build a community of performing arts creatives within Lake Macquarie.
Plays will be performed in front of a live audience and a panel of judges will assess the performances based on a series of criteria. Winners will be announced after the final performance.
