Lake Cruise & Nature Walk

Step aboard CoastXP’s custom-built adventure boat for an all-inclusive lake cruise and guided nature walk overlooking the largest permanent saltwater lake in the southern hemisphere. The experience involves an adventure boat tour of Lake Mac, a 2km guided bushwalking tour and a catered lunch. Begin at Belmont Foreshore before you pass the idyllic bays, beaches and islands of Lake Mac on CoastXP’s adventure boat before alighting at Wangi Peninsula for a guided bushwalk through the Lake Macquarie State Conservation Area. Following the walk, relax on the shores of Lake Macquarie at Dobell Park to enjoy a premium individual grazing box with a view of Pulbah Island Nature Reserve before returning to Belmont Foreshore by boat.

Whale Watching Discovery Tour from Lake Macquarie

Witness the breathtaking sight of humpback whales breaching off Lake Macquarie's stunning coast aboard the only dedicated whale-watching vessel in the area. You will depart from Chalmers Street Jetty near Swansea Bridge onboard a custom-built boat that offers shelter and optimal water-level viewing of marine life. Learn from an accredited guide about humpback whales and their migratory journey spanning 10,000 kilometres return from Antarctica to Tropical North Queensland. You might even spot other local marine life along the way such as long-nosed fur seals and common dolphins.

Explore the beautiful Lake Macquarie coastline of New South Wales with this Ocean Explorer Tour. On this 75 minute voyage, see the picturesque Swansea Channel and some of the region's most impressive natural wonders, including the Moon Island Nature Reserve, the sea caves at Caves Beach and Pinneys Headland, and the stunning Catherine Hill Bay. On your journey, make sure to keep an eye out for an array of local marine life such as dolphins, seals, turtles, penguins, sharks, and many species of seabirds. You’ll also get the opportunity to learn about the maritime and natural history, Aboriginal heritage, and local geology of this fascinating stretch of coastline.
