These absolute waterfront retreats are the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the serene views of Lake Macquarie from your own balcony. The perfect getaway for either a family, with it's proximity to the lake, beaches and large yard or a romantic getaway for two.
You will be able to enjoy all these activities:
- Beaches: 3 minutes drive to Catherine Hill Bay or 5 minutes to Caves Beach
- Fishing: cast a line from the backyard!
- Visit the Hunter for wine tasting
- Table tennis (located downstairs)
- Kids swing and climbing outdoor play equipment
- Dining: go for a casual lunch at Catho Pub or neighbouring restaurants at Rafferty's Resort (2 minute drive) or....just kick back and relax with a BBQ on the balcony as you watch the sunset over the lake.
- Boating (tie up at the water's edge in the back yard)
...and for those necessities, there is a local corner shop within walking distance (along the lake's edge), or take a 5 minute drive to Swansea to supermarkets and more restaurants.
LAKES EDGE COTTAGE is a 2 Bedroom double storey absolute waterfront property which is newly renovated and furnished. Drive through the garage for access to the water's edge and the Boathouse.
The Cottage is fully self-contained with BBQ and outdoor setting on a large covered balcony and master bedroom overlooking the lake. Additional downstairs bathroom contains washing machine and dryer.
The Cottage sleeps up to 6 people and is ideal for either 2 couples or a family.
Bedroom 1: 1 Queen size bed
Bedroom 2: Bouble bed bunk (sleeps 3) + 1 single bed + pull-out single trundle bed.
Alternatively, LAKES EDGE BOATHOUSE can be rented on its own or in combination with the Cottage when there are larger groups such as 2 families (or sleeping quarters for the kids). The secluded self-contained Boathouse is located only 1 metre from the lake's edge and about 70 metres in front of the cottage. Please enquire as to the availability + pricing, as discounts will be offered for combined booking of the Cottage and Boathouse.
During the Xmas and January holiday period, any reservations must include both Lakes Edge Cottage and Lakes Edge Boathouse and be a minimum of 7 nights.
Lakes Edge Boathouse is 8 x 3m in diameter and has sliding glass doors opening to a covered deck overlooking the Lake. It is ideal for a couple or small family.
This fully self-contained boathouse comes with all the comforts you need to make that perfect weekend. Bathroom facilities are located only metres away in an adjacent rustic boathshed.
The boathouse contains:
1 x Double bed bunk (sleeps 3)
1 x Fold-out double sofa bed

Location & Directions
From Sydney: Nords Wharf is approximately 60 minutes drive from the start of the F3 Freeway at Wahroonga.
After approx 45 minutes from Wahroonga, take the "Budgewoi/Swansea/Charlestown" exit (for East Lake Macquarie and Nords Wharf) just past the Caltex Service Station on the F3.
After approximately another 15 minutes (22 kms), turn left at Awabakal Drive (Nords Wharf) and then right onto Government Road
From Newcastle: Head along the Pacific Highway towards Swansea. Continue south through Swansea towards Sydney for 11km. Turn right into Nords Wharf Road and then left onto Government Road.
