For the more adventurous, the Watagan Mountains National Park in western Lake Macquarie is home to many excellent bushwalking tracks. Scenery unique to the area includes rainforest gullies, waterfalls, spectacular Illawarra Flame trees, panoramic lookouts and remnants of the Watagans’ rich cultural history.
