Dining and entertainment

Make memories at refined restaurants as you soak up the water views and savour fresh seafood, just-picked regional produce and superb wines from the Hunter Valley – or simply enjoy the catch of the day at one of the many casual diners and takeaway outlets lining the coast and the shoreline of the lake.

Seek out the eateries at the sailing and community clubs dotting the lake for lunch or dinner with an unbeatable view. Feel spoilt for choice with the great dining options at the Belmont 16s sailing club, including The Boat Shed craft beer bar, and stay for comedy and music shows. Relish modern Australian pub fare at Lake Macquarie Yacht Club’s Crusoe’s on the Lake, also in Belmont. Opt for Bay Restaurant’s contemporary Australian offering at Royal Motor Yacht Club in Toronto, or enjoy live music with a simple dinner at Wangi District Workers Club, on the waterfront at Wangi Wangi, and Pelican RSL at Pelican, across the channel from Swansea.

Sit back and delight in the play of light on the water from your table at the slick 8 at Trinity restaurant at Trinity Point Marina in Morisset Park, the Lake Bar & Bistro at Raffertys Resort at Cams Wharf, or the waterfront restaurant at Caves Coastal Bar & Bungalows at Caves Beach.

Watch boats sail by over lunch at the Warners Bay dining precinct before taking the kids to Warners Bay’s Hillsborough Road entertainment quarter. You’ll also find plenty of options for lunch or a snack at Charlestown Square, the largest shopping and entertainment centre in the Hunter region, and Stockland Glendale mall, both of which also have large cinemas.
