Hunter Valley Region

The Hunter Region is located only a 90 minutes drive north from Sydney CBD and comprises of seven sub-regions that extend from the coast at Lake Macquarie through the mountain ranges of Watagan Mountains to wine country and the rich agricultural lands beyond.

Lake Macquarie

Coming north along the coast from Sydney you enter the Hunter Region through Australia’s largest coastal salt-water lake, Lake Macquarie. Hunter Valley Wine Country

Widely known for its award winning wines, the Hunter Valley now also supports a burgeoning olive industry, with cold pressed olive oil and other olive products available. You will also find wood fired bread, delicious Hunter Cheeses, stone fruits, table grapes, honey, homemade condiments and sauces, and even... chocolate made with chilli!

Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Brokenback Range, the area now yields more than a hundred wineries and cellar doors, embracing areas such as Pokolbin, Rothbury, Broke Fordwich, Lovedale, Wollombi Valley and Mount View.
